SERENGETI NATIONAL
PARK
The Serengeti National Park is arguably the best known wildlife
sanctuary in the world. ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’ in the
masai language, and within its boundaries are more than tree million
large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen here
including the so called ‘big five’ elephant, rhino, lion (some 1,500
of them), leopard and buffalo. In May or early June, huge herds of
wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their spectacular migration. In
their wake follow the predators, lion, cheetah and wild dog with
vultures circling overhead. Other common species found here include
hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons,
monkeys, and a profusion of over 500 species of bir

Serengeti, Manyara, and Ngorongoro
DAY 1:
Drive from Moshi to Manyara National Park, takes approx.4 hours
drive. In Manyara after having a picnic lunch you start
the late afternoon game drive which is also the best time to view
animals in this park. In the tall trees of the ground water forest,
monkeys leap from one branch to branch, on the escarpment elephants
stand in the shade acacia. Dinner and over night at the Hotel or
Campsite.
DAY 2:
Drive from Karatu to Lake Eyasi. You will see a great birdlife
along the shore and location alone makes it a great place to spend a
couple of nights. Also the meadows along the shores of the lake and
forest are home to a wide variety of wildlife including leopard,
hippos, a variety of monkeys, various birds. Greater and lesser
flamingoes, storks and pelicans. Drive back to the Campsite or Hotel
for overnight full board.
DAY 3:
Drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge takes about 3 to
4 hours. Olduvai George is an archaeological site located in the
eastern Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first
discovered. It has the amazing landscape that resulted from the
tectonic forces which created the Great Rift Valley million of years
ago. Then in the late evening the game drives to Serengeti and
overnight at the Campsite or Hotel for full board.
DAY 4:
After breakfast venture into the corners of wilderness Serengeti for
a full day game viewing in the park. Picnic lunch besides you, take
your leisure while exploring the only truly world heritage site,
where largest concentration of plain game on earth still exists! In
the late evening back at the camp for a rest, dinner and overnight.
DAY
5:
After breakfast, morning game drives at Serengeti National Park,
and then later afternoon drive to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge.
Olduvai Gorge is an archaeological site located in the eastern
Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first
discovered. It has the amazing landscape that resulted from the
tectonic forces which created the Great Rift Valley million of years
ago. And then drive to the Campsite or Hotel for overnight full
board.
DAY 6:
The half day game drives to Ngorongoro Crater. This is undoubtedly
the best place to see black rhino in Tanzania as well as the prides
of lion that includes the magnificent black mined males. There are
lots of colorful flamingoes and the variety of water birds. Other
game-leopard, cheetah, elephants, hyena and lots of other members of
the antelope family and small mammals of sorts are also found here.
Then in the late afternoon drive back to Moshi at the Hotel for
overnight bed and breakfast
