DAYS/ 9 NIGHTS
Day 1:
On arrival in Kilimanjaro
International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
The rest of the day is at your leisure. Please note this is an
arrival day and you may arrive at any time.In the evening there is a
briefing on the trek. At this time you will also receive your
personal trek bag. This trek bag will contain a kit bag that your
porter will carry, an appropriate sleeping bag, sleep sheet and down
jacket. You will need to transfer your other possessions into this
bag. You will be able to leave your normal traveling bag and any
excess luggage at base hotel to be collected upon your return.
DAY 2: Leave
from your hotel drive to Lemosho via Londros Park gate 2250m then
Mti Mkubwa 2750 M.Dinner and Overnight. Forest Camp /Mti Mkubwa (Big
tree).
DAY 3: After
breakfast you receive lunch packets continue to hike to Shira I
(3500m by crossesthrough the valleys a few streams before ascending
the Shira Ridge, gaining altitude to about 3600m. Dinner and
Overnight Shira I.
DAY 4: After
break fast leave Shira 1, to Shira 2 (3850m). This day start with a
gentle walk across the Shira Plateau into the Moorland. Dinner and
Overnight Shira 2 Camp.
DAY 5; After
break fast leave Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp 3950m with a good
view of ShiraPlateau to west, Oehler Ridge to the north- east and
the Western Breach to the east. Dinner andOvernight Baranco Camp.
DAY 6: After
break fast continue hiking to Karanga Camp. Before reaching the Camp
at Karanga Valley below 4000m you will pass through Valleys offering
great views of Hein glacier.
DAY 7: After
break fast at Karanga Camp continue to Barafu Camp 4600m. There is
no water at Barafu hut4600m so you should take care and stock up
your water supply . You should be able to rest up atBarafu for the
whole afternoon, acclimatizing and gathering strength for the
summit. Dinner andOvernight Barafu Camp.
DAY 8: Barafu
Camp 4600m to Uhuru Peak 5895m to Mweka Camp 3100m. At around
midnight you will head in a north-westerly direction up the South
East valley toward Stella Point on the crater rim, then to Uhuru
Peak 5895m the highest point in Africa. From here you descend
straight toMweka Camp 3100m for dinner and overnight.
DAY 9: After
breakfast at Mweka Camp you descend to Mweka gate where you can
obtain your certificateof achievement before we drive you back to
your hotel for shower or bath and a good rest. Dinnerand Overnight
stay.
Day10: You
will be transferred by your private vehicle to the airport for
departure. You can book this transfer at any time depending your
flight schedule. Or we can arrange Safari /Beach holiday / Cultural
